¡Hola!

I'm Michael Chang.I'm from Los Angeles & based in San Francisco.

I'm a full-stack web developer & a recent Dev BootCamp graduate.

I'm also a digital marketer, avid traveler & yoga instructor.

I love tackling new technologies & learning languages, both spoken and computer. I speak English, Spanish, Mandarin, and (a little) Portuguese. I write Ruby, Javascript & HTML/CSS.

And I see all these as a way to cultivate a genuine connection with people through words, code, and movement. As I dive deeper into my newfound love for web development, I hope to merge all of my passions into creating meaningful projects and making impactful things.

Programming allows us to insert our voices and unique perspectives from our own slices of life into re-shaping this world via technology. I see development as a way to transform how I see and interact with the world around me. As a means to continual growth and learning. As a path towards creative and technical potential.

Traverse

A digital travel scrapbook that allows you to easily & beautifully document your travel experiences. Relive your experiences & share your recommendations with friends. Segment your journey chronologically, via tags, or in a Google Maps overview.

Decoupled web app with Rails API backend and Angular frontend. Uses JWT Authentication, Facebook/Instagram OAuth, Google Maps/Yelp API. Bootstrap.

Led a team of four. Built in just 7 days, over 100 hours

Travel Journal
Travel Journal

A simple travel journal enabling you to jot down some notes, keep track of places you’ve visited, and display travel photos from your trip.

Built using Ruby, Sinatra, HTML/CSS and Javascript (jQuery and AJAX). I also utilized the Yelp API and Instagram OAuth to access user photos.

This mini-project inspired Traverse - a full-fledged digital scrapbook that served as final capstone group project at DBC.
